Hi Peter,
I have a further little question. I noticed with mysqladmin status that there were 1094 tables open now. I thought that this could cause a problem with file descriptors, so I executed mysqladmin flush-tables and I got 247 tables open. My question is:
Would it be harmful if I executed mysqladmin flush-tables hourly to close all the tables? Would that cause problems for current transactions and commits?
