Does MySQL support the Karen language

This is not really a beginner question but I wasn't sure where else to post it. Please let me know if there's a better place to post this.

We are doing a project where our application needs to show up in 22 different languages. 21 of the languages are no issue so far but one language is giving us problems, the Karen language.

The issue that the developer on my team is having is to actually find a way to write SQL statements in a way that the language symbols don't get modified before going in the database.

In trying to help the developer get unblocked, I found the following article:

This is not my area of expertise by any means but I believe Karen and Burmese are somewhat based on the same symbols.

My question is, is the Karen language officially supported by MySQL?
