MySQL 5.5.29 on High Sierra OS X. Everything was working fine, and all of a sudden (no idea what changed) it's giving me
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
I've started it like
sudo ./mysqld_safe --skip-grant-table
and went in and reset the password, but using that same password, it's Access denied all the time. What is going on??
