When you clicked on "local system account" and wiped out the account name in This Account, if you dismissed the dialog with Cancel, then the change won't be saved.

If you used OK, and saved the change, you can open that dialog again, click on "This account" and click on Browse. In the new dialog, in "Enter the object name to select" type "Network Service" without the quotes. Click Check Names and NETWORK_SERVICE will be found. OK from there. Back in the previous dialog, you don't need a password. If there appears to be an obfuscated password, leave it alone. OK to dismiss the dialog saving the changes.
What this does is sets the owner of the MySQL service. In Windows, it is normal to be owned by Network Service.

Good luck,
Barry.
