I will try to get access to a Orcl 8.1 installation to reproduce the issue here.

Do you guys have Eclipse installed? The Migration Toolkit ships with an Eclipse project. And if you start the toolkit with -debug, you can use remote debugging inside of Eclipse to see what is going on.

Anyway, I will try to reproduce the issue here.
