When I move to 5.1 (at release), I am going to create a mirror of the old table with the new partitioning (and precreated partitions for the past six months), and then SELECT .. INTO the new, partitioned table.
The only thing that I am having a concern with is Jon's reference to the key constraints. Would my current table structure not conform? I have a key on m_date...
