Multiple threads accessing same partition

Hello,

I have multiple threads writing to a partitioned db table. Does anyone know if mysql locks a partition while writing to it, making other threads accessing the same partition for writing wait.

Will appreciate the info.

Also, I posted this query before but my laptop crashed in between and was not sure if the query got posted or not. Even search or looking at forum didn't helped, so I'm posting again, please ignore one in case both the queries get posted.
