I hear nothing that would lead me to believe that you will get any performance benefit from PARTITIONing. Do you have a SELECT that you think will be helped?
It would help if you provided
SHOW CREATE TABLE
SHOW TABLE STATUS
EXPLAIN PARTITIONS SELECT ...
