Performance com partition

Olá,
estou testanto o particionamento em uma tabela que cresce mais de 1 milhão de registros por dia. Ocorrem poucas consultas, mas quando ocorrem, sempre tem um filtro por campo campo string. Tentei um particionamento BY RANGE neste campo string, mas o tempo de gravação aumentou bastante e o tempo de pesquisa não diminui

Alguma experiência diferente
