Thank you, Frederic! I was hoping to hear something like this. In all my article surfing, I started to feel this was the case, but simply could not find something saying this definitively.

I actually figured out the issue that led down this path a few hours after I posted this message. I was put in charge of a system configured by someone else. After 2 days of taking it apart and putting it back together, I stumbled across the mistake. I tracked down an ODBC connection using MySQL 5.3 Unicode drivers to connect to a MySQL 8.0 database. The partition errors in the log were a result of this. After I changed which drivers were being used, the job ran smoothly.
