Phrase searching

How best can mySQL accomodate phrase searching while still maintaining quick response times? I'm assuming multiple indicies do not need to be developed but have no clue. For example, how would I search all documents for "plasma tv"? I do not want to look for documents that have plasma in one sentence and tv in another... they need to be found as a phrase.

I also read an article about Sphinx but don't know if it's suggested to implement. What benefits does it provide above and beyond what mySQL can perform?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
