Testing With Query Expansion

I need advice on how to do this. I am testing my full text search with several queries. Some use With query expansion and some dont. I am using UNION to combine my results. What I am not sure how to do is the following:

Add a column to the result set to indicate which result row used query expansion and another column to show what words were included in my search. Any example would be appreciated as well as links to proper syntax.
