Boolean search with special characters

Hello,

I am trying to setup a simple boolean search as follows:

--
select * from table1 where match(column1, colum2) against ('$keyword' in boolean mode)
--

The problem: words with special characters are not found.

Table sample (table1):

colum1 column2
dat-001 Data 001 description...
dat-002 Data 002 description...

How could I perform a query to find exactly "dat-001" so the hyphen is not treated as boolean modifier?

Thanks!
