Limits on Fulltext search

Does anyone know if there Is there a limit on the number/length of terms using "match against(<terms>)"?

I am developing a reporting application that can submit 100 different terms to search on and I'm trying to figure out whether to use "match against()" with fulltext indexes or just some really long "in ('<term1>[, '<term2>',...]) in my queries.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
