Fulltext word/phrase aliases?

Is there a way to define an alias for a fulltext search string? For instance, if I am using numbers to represent data (i.e. '1' = "Airlines", '2' = "Automotive", etc...) can I have FULLTEXT relate a search on "Airlines" to '1' for the column I'm searching against?
