Errors in Table editor related to semicolon

I am very new to all of this and just discovered the query browser two days ago.
I downloaded: mysql-query-browser-1.1.12-linux.tar.gz
I'm on Linux Fedora Core 3.
mysql Ver 11.18 Distrib 3.23.58, for redhat-linux-gnu (i386)

Every attempt to either add a field or edit on in the table editor results in an error. After some hacking, I found that if I delete the ";" at the end of the string and then hit 'execute' the thing then works.

Is this a bug or am I doing something/missing something stupid?

Regards and thanks for a great tool!
