Hi Matt

> I've successfully installed mysql using yum

For up-to date builds (also via yum) take a peek at http://ourdelta.org/

No need to mess with groups/users or service setup, that's taken care of.

In terms of securing the setup (root pwd etc), it's easiest to use the mysql_secure_installation which runs you through all the steps!

Regards, Arjen.
