Well to answer your question my OS platform is Win 7 Home Premium. and to the other quewstion this is hardly a first time attempted installation!! No I have either successfully or non-successfully tried to install mysql many times before. But how do I handle that error that says : "Configuration failed" by the mysql 5.6 server! I click the link to try again, "tinker" with my password only to get the same result.
