Hi Susan,
I have answered questions.

- The bin directory noted in the log is 5.7. Did you install the 8.0.11 binaries in a 5.7 directory structure?
Yes

- The mysqld log seems incomplete. When a DD is found partially upgraded, it is because it had tried to start a previous time and encountered some error. Do you have any further logs to show any other errors?
No. I have provided all the logs I see in error log

- Were you able to restart the MySQL server after it aborted? Either using 5.7 or 8.0?
yes, I was able to restart MySQL server using MySQL 5.7

- Did you backup your data? If you cannot restart the MySQL server, you may need to revert to the backup.
Yes. I did backed up my data before upgrading.

- Possibly moot at this point, but a major upgrade (from 5.7 to 8.0 or any other major upgrade) is not supported using the MySQL installer. This is noted in the documentation.
Yes , I am aware MySQL 5.7 to 8.0 is not supported using installer. Also logical upgrade is not supported.

Can you please suggest a better upgrade method.
