Upgrade for macOS does not recognize previous install
Why the standard installer for macOS does not recognize existing installation of MySQL database created with previous version of the same installer?
It did not recognize last time, when I upgraded to 8.0.20, and had 8.0.19 installed. I thought it was because I did not stop the server. This time I did go to "System Preferences" and stopped it. Yet, the 8.0.21 installer still did not recognize existing 8.0.20 install and created databases anew.
Frankly, for 2020, this is simply disgusting...
