I'm having the same problem. As of right now the .ARN file is over 760GB and it's growing around 4MB every second. The corresponding .ARZ file is just over 1GB.

I'm about to restart the server...hopefully I won't lose any data.

For context, we have a job running that is consolidating log tables from several slave servers (those logs tables run under the INNODB storage engines rather than Archive BTW) into one central table on a reporting server...that table being type ARCHIVE. The job is designed to run slowly...it's inserting approx 1,000 records per minute into the ARCHIVE table.

Any idea what's going on?
