Usage documentation for MySql::Ruby?

I have installed the gem mysql (MySql::Ruby). How can I find out
how to use it? The documentation on the web just lists the functions
with a very coarse description of its meaning, but no documentation
how they interact. I *guess* that I need to call init() first and
then real_connect() or maybe connect(), but what else is needed?
