x86 and sparc compatibility

Hi dear mysql users.

I've build two mysql servers, one on Solaris x86 and an other one on Solaris sparc.
The first one is compiled using sun studio and the second one with gcc.

In fact I need only one mysql database server, but I've done that to ensure the sevice availability. In case of any unfixable error on x86, I've planned to switch to sparc (using the same database).

I wonder if the mysql database itself (the files) is bound to the server architecture, i.e. is it possible to switch from x86 to sparc?
