I have followed the instructions on how to reset the password but got this error message.
"C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\bin>mysqld --init-file=C:\Users\Gavin\Do
cumentsmysql-init.txt

120221 20:20:53 InnoDB: Mutexes and rw_locks use Windows interlocked functions
120221 20:20:53 InnoDB: Compressed tables use zlib 1.2.3
120221 20:20:53 InnoDB: Initializing buffer pool, size = 128.0M

InnoDB: The error means mysqld does not have the access rights to

InnoDB: of the same name as a data file.
InnoDB: File name .\ibdata1
InnoDB: File operation call: 'create'.
InnoDB: Cannot continue operation."

So then I tried the other method because I used the installer and got this

"C:\>"C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\bin\mysqld.exe"

Now, I have absolutely no idea where to start besides unistalling and reinstalling. I really would like to get this up and running. Please any information would be greatly appreciated.

Possible useful info:
Windows 7
mysql 5.5 (installer)
