Please can a developer actually read the bug report and fix the issue please, especially as its simply restoring a feature that was cut!

This affects many people and the only fix is to hack the config files which then prevents any further updates to the program.

I appreciate you'll not go out of your way to fix anything that makes life easier for MariaDB users, but this also affects MySQL 5.7 and below too, of which there are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of users.

Thanks Rafael for raising it here, lets hope Oracle actually read their own forums more than they do bug reports!
