Installing LuaSocket with MySQL Proxy

Can anyone tell me how to do this? The lua interpreter is embedded with MySQL Proxy and no matter what I do with the file locations or environment variables, I ultimately end up with the socket module unable to be loaded. The errors also ask for a lua-socket.dll that doesn't even exist as far as I can tell. The only information I've found on doing this is other people asking the same question and not getting any answer.
