Stateful Failover possible?

I'm currently testing the 0.8.1 version of mysql-proxy and I ask myself whether it's possible to configure stateful failover with mysql-proxy. I have two mySQL DB's with Master2Master Replication and I need stateful failover for this.

Is it possible to get stateful failover with mysql-proxy alone or do I need additional tools?

If it is possible, how should I do it?

So far when I run mysqlslap for testing the failover mechanism, and then I stop one mySQL instance, I always get the following error: ERROR : Lost connection to MySQL server during query. With stateful failover the query should just continue as nothing ever happened.

Any help appreciated.
