"Virtualizing" a MySQL instance in a platform like Docker doesn't remove its incompatibilities with other versions of MySQL or with instances of other RDBMSs. To melt away those incompatibilities and consolidate them in MySQL, you'll need to migrate them all to one instance of one version of MySQL.
