In the free version, you can reverse engineer by first creating a dump of your schema, then using that as a script source to reverse engineer. I did this by using mysqldump with the no data option, saving the output as .sql, and using the .sql file as the source to be engineered. It worked fine for me in my case.
Regarding printing, I know I have seen several posts about this, if you search in the message board I believe there is a workaround for the beta free version.
