Re: use of workbench
What you want to do is create a logical data model. Workbench is oriented towards physical data models. I have been pondering ways to maintain separate yet synchronized logical and physical models but I don't have a good solution yet.
I'm hoping the scripting and plugin features will make it possible to write something that will compare two models and maintain the connection between them.
