It's not possible to limit the memory consumption for most applications. Only Java allows to limit the VM size. However, you can simply avoid running Workbench too long. Close it when you don't need it anymore.

It would also be good to know if you really see huge memory consumption or if that's just a safety measure to avoid potential trouble. If you really see such a problem, what's the common thing you do regularly, which raises the RAM usage for Workbench?
