Reverse Engineer closes after selecting certain database

I'm trying to reverse engineer our existing database schema into a model using the reverse engineer tool built into MySQL workbench. However, after selecting my schema, the program will freeze on the 'Reverse Engineer' step, and close itself down a couple of seconds later. The wb.log file does not help either, mentioning that it has fetched the table list, view list, routine list & trigger list, but no new lines afterwards.

Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, what options do I have to fix it?
