C++, MySQL, PHP and Linux

Hello! :P

IMO, that's a very good match!! Now, everything can use everything in that mix, BUT one possibility I'm still searching for...

How in this world do we make queries to a MySQL database from a C/C++ program?
And please, I know everyone who read that question feels like telling me read the 30000 pages manual and use google... No! ...please, oh please, just consider that I'm writing a software in a linux console, for a linux box, and it has to connect to the mysql database and get stuff out of it, and get stuff in it. I found a kind of MySQLwrapper, that seemed to work very fine, but it works only with Microsoft software.

I search something that might be looking like the way PHP interacts with MySQL...

Thanks a ton to the guy(or gal) who gives me the key to my liberation!

Max J

P.S. : It doesn't have to be able to connect to remote databases... well, not yet.
