I was wondering what others were getting as far as performance with the C++ API libraries.
I'm getting about 21-26 ms per transaction with an insert statement and using the mysql_query() function. Is this more or less what everyone else is getting? It takes me 3.5 hours to load 500,000 transactions! That's slow.

My program is simple: I create a thread and run a for-loop that calls the mysql_query function several thousand times. Then subtracting system time before and after, and a simple division gives me seconds/transaction.

I'm hoping I just have some settings wrong, because this is going to be painful if it's this slow.
