Banner not same.

I have made a very slim banner bg image for my phpbb site in fireweorks and exported to jpg. In mozila its fine but in IE it show a bit of gap where bg blue color is visible. Is this image dimensions are stored in MySql? As if image size is same why its showing different height in different browsers. Whats wrong with this site
