Re: MySQL server is missing from the instailler
Hi all, I'm a complete newbie and just experienced the same problem where the server itself failed to install. I have done a bit of a workaround that I could use some feedback on.
I found that you can relaunch the installer, select ADD, then add the server again to be installed. After that, expand the components of the server package on the right of the dialogue. Un-select the server data files. The actual server and Client programs, dev. components and documentation will install now.
What I don't know is what are the data files? Are they necessary? and if so, why can you choose to not install them?
