Re: Install of Workbench fails
Ok, I got around this by installing an older version of the server and its associated Workbench.(Had to go two versions back)
I'm not super techie on Windows but in looking at comments from others on stackoverflow it looks like the culprit is:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistributable
The usual problem. Microsoft has upgraded and MySQL has not.
As mentioned the latest version of MySQL workbench originally worked on my machine. I'm not 100% on this but I think installing Visual Studio may have bumped up my C++ 2015. Of course uninstalling VS didn't help me.
It should not be this difficult.
