Hello Dietmar,

thank you for reporting this issue. As you mention, that is most likely the reason why the creation of the task failed. I'd recommend raising a bug describing this behavior at https://bugs.mysql.com/.

Find below the details for you to setup the task manually:

Name: ManifestUpdate
Location: \MySQL\Installer
Trigger: Daily at 12 a.m (this can be configured in the MySQL Installer options)
Action: Start program with the following command: "C:\Program Files(x86)\MySQL\MySQL Installer for Windows\MySQLInstallerConsole.exe" Community Update
