Startup error - unable to save connections file

Hi,

a similar problem to many other ones here, but this error message didn't appear in any of the previous posts:

An Error Ocurred
Unable to save database connections file

This is followed by a high severity error "log file path must be defined before calling the WriteToLog method".

This occurs when upon startup of Notifier the config files in %APP_DATA%/Roaming/Oracle/MySQL Notifier are missing. Subsequent launch attempts also fail, but with an "Error Subscribing to WMI Events" message. I'm trying to install the server locally, of course, and encouraged by other posts tried launching the Notifier with the server installed in different locations, running and shut down, etc.

Any help will be appreciated.
