Re: Connection problems after upgrading from 5.0.22 to 5.0.27 (connection refused)

I have a MySQL server version 5.0.24.

I installed NetBeans 5.5 today and I was unable to get connection to my database on localhost. I had a similar stack trace too.

I use Slackware linux 10.2, and the "skip-networking" was commented out in the my.cnf.

After checking the running MySQL instance (ps ax | most) i found that there is a "--skip-networking" switch in the running instance. I wondered why.

Finally I found the --skip-networking switch in "rc.mysqld" under /etc/rc.d. I had to comment it out, and now I have connection to the server!
