I think that you forget your user name and password for mysql. you can see them in your my.ini file. if you could see mysql table in phpinfo() that means you are connected.
Please check you server name too. because that may be another name. for example my server is localhost your host may be another. you can see your server name from Enviroment option of winmysqladmin that there is Host info for example my host info is localhost via TCP/IP
Please check your php.ini file too my localhost php.ini that I put you on my server is in http://www.torkiye.com/forum/kullanici/php.ini . you can replace it with yourself phpi.ini file in your windows folder.
