Hi,

It sounds like you don't really want a GROUP BY, but instead an ORDER BY? A GROUP BY will do exactly what you said, reduce the number of rows coming back. I don't entirely follow what you are saying though, so I could be wrong. Can you give an example of a table, and the output that you really want?
