Thanks very much both of you guys! Using your examples I can not only see what I was doing wrong, but have also (using Rick's code) solved the problem completely. Otherwise, what happened was:- in the multi-row case, things worked fine but when it came to the single-row case, nothing was being written at all, and I got an error message saying that styletype was an undefined index!!
