This is for a private sector. We bought a template for a Joomla site for a non-profit community organization. We didn't know that it would be this complicated to write simple queries to fetch/display a User's name, address etc.

This is now taking us in to realm that we are not too familiar with in terms of programming skills and knowledge base.

So, yes it is indeed unfortunate. But I am surprised that this company would adopt to this method for their data storage. I will look at the information at the links that you provided.
