Re: mysqld periodically hanging
The error log had Show Engine InnoDB Status result? Nothing above the semaphore msg that looks relevant? If it's me, I turn on the general query log, and discover what queries are running when this happens.
If you find nothing, consider reporting it to bugs.mysql.com as suggested by the error log msg.
