Hello!

Yes, I am sure.

Unfortunately my guess that the problem only occurs on 64 bit systems is wrong. I get same deadlock on a AMD Athlon XP 2600+ with MySQL-server-4.0.12. But the problem occurs less often than on the 64 bit system.

Am I wrong, or should this locking mechanism work (lock tables around transactions)?
