activating InnoDB

I recently installed MySQL 5.0. When I try to create a new database with an innodb engine I get a warning stating that InnoDB is inactive. how do I activate it?

I've tried to turn it on throught MySQL Administrator but to no avail.

Help would be greatly appreciated.
