If you use the InnoDB lock monitor it will show you more details of every lock being held. It is described at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/4.1/en/innodb-monitor.html . Some approaches to dealing with deadlocks are described at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/4.1/en/innodb-deadlocks.html .

Note that you need to use the SHOW INNODB STATUS while the locks are being held. The information isn't available if you're just looking at the most recent deadlock report after the deadlock has been detected.
