Let me see a raising of hands...
How many need SSDs, which are 10x faster then HDDs? (Very few hands go up.)
How many need more than 800GB of disk space? (Very few hands go up.)

Go cheap.

90% of users don't need the size/performance/etc that the hosting company would love to sell you.

Sketch out your app, then sketch out how much speed/activity/etc you might need. Only after that, should you decide on the hardware. I predict the cheapest will be "good enough".

If you have performance problems, _first_ ask for performance advice; it might be something as simple as adding an INDEX or making a small change to a SELECT. On several occasions, I have seen a system going from "melting down" to being virtually idle, just by doing such a 1-line fix.
