I'm running Opencart and when someone buys something from me I have create an invoice. The invoice numbers don't skip but the order numbers do skip.
When my account and the tax office here in Germany see missing orders they will ask where is the VAT on the missing orders, and they will ask me what the hell is going on.
I can't change the way Opencart gets the order numbers so I need to make sure that the auto increment doesn't skip any values.
